Adam joined SignalFire after completing his PhD in Computer Science at Stanford in the Natural Language Processing (NLP) group (2008–14). His research at Stanford focused on reinforcement learning, sentiment analysis, and situated language acquisition. Adam published research in top venues, including the Association for Artificial Intelligence, the International Conference on Machine Learning, and the Association for Computational Linguistics. As an intern at Honda Research Institute (2011), Adam was awarded a patent for methods of predicting driver routes to improve hybrid vehicle efficiency. Before his PhD, Adam graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science, summa cum laude, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
