Aidar Kaliev is the Global Head of Venture Capital at VTB Capital Investment Management and a board member in a number of portfolio companies such as RNT (MICEX:RNAV), Mobi.Money, Eccentex and AiHit. Prior to joining VTB Capital in 2010, he was the Chairman of the board at Summa Telecom, a broadband internet provider in Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. From 2006-2008, he was CEO at Eventis Telecom, a GSM and fixed-line telecommunication start-up in Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, and Georgia. Part of his vast experience in the Central Asian region was gained as Deputy CEO of Finance & Economics with Kyrgyzstan-based JSC Electric Power Plants and as First Deputy CEO of JSC Kyrgyzgas during 2001-2005. Aidar graduated with honors from St. Petersburg State University, where he specialized in Operations Research in Economics.
