About
Alex Caram is an Associate Partner with NewSchools Venture Fund on the Innovative Schools Team. She also supports ventures in the Learning to Teach Fund. Prior to joining NewSchools, Alex was an Induction Coach with New Teacher Center, where she worked with first and second years teachers in Chicago Public Schools to develop the practices and mindsets that are required for effective teaching. Alex began her career teaching high school science in both Northern California and in Chicago. During graduate school, Alex was an Education Pioneer Fellow at Leadership for Educational Equity, a leadership development organization catalyzing leaders who have classroom experience to impact polices, priorities and resources, so we can achieve educational equality. Alex earned a BA in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University, an MA in Education from Stanford University and an MBA from University of California, Los Angeles.
