Alex MacDougall founded SamacSys in 2011 to address the global shortage of accurate ECAD models for electronic components. Under his leadership, the platform grew to support over 1.2 million engineers and partnered with major distributors including Mouser and RS Components. After Supplyframe acquired SamacSys in 2019, MacDougall joined as VP of DesignSense & Innovation and helped lead the company through its $700m acquisition by Siemens. He continues to advise and invest in technology businesses focused on engineering data, design intelligence and scalable digital infrastructure.
