Andy joined August Capital in 1996 and brings technology and market experience in such areas as open-source software, broadband communications, semiconductors, and computer systems. He has more than 20 years of experience as a founder, investor, and/or director of venture-backed start-ups, and has served on more than 30 public and private company boards. Andy currently serves on the boards of directors of Atheros Communications (NADAQ: ATHR), Broadlogic Systems, Luxtera, Magnum Semiconductor, MicroDisplay, Scintera, Tzero, Unity Semiconductor, and Ubicom. Andy has also led August Capital's investments in and served on the boards of Silicon Image (NASDAQ: SIMG) and Telocity (acquired by Hughes). Prior to joining August Capital, Andy was involved in the formation and success of more than a dozen venture capital-backed start-ups, including Actel, MMC Networks, Silicon Architects (acquired by Synopsys), Transmeta, and Viewlogic.
