Arno has over 25 years of experience with banking in emerging markets. Prior to assisting the Singapore team of SBI Ven Capital he has been a senior investment officer for the FMO in The Netherlands, covering mainly the financial sector in Asia and Central Asia. Since 2001 he has provided many debt and equity products to FIs within the country mandate of the SBI-FMO Fund. His network in Asia is extensive. In the period 2009-2011 he worked for Triodos Investment Management, a sustainable banking group in the Netherlands. The period prior to joining FMO Arno worked as a trainer at the ABN AMRO Academy in Amsterdam, training young international hires in banking. In the period 1986-2000 he worked in South America. He started his career in Suriname as economics lecturer. Afterwards from 1989 he worked in the management of the 2 largest banks in Suriname, both related to ABN AMRO. Arno studied 2 Economics degrees at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Married with 2 grown up boys.
