Brad Fluegel is senior vice president, chief strategy and business development officer for Walgreen Co., based in Deerfield, Illinois. Fluegel is responsible for corporate strategy and business development, as well as developing and implementing Healthcare Clinic, clinical office and healthcare innovation strategies. Fluegel joined Walgreens in October 2012 after previously serving as executive in residence at Health Evolution Partners. Before that he was executive vice president and chief strategy and external affairs officer of Wellpoint, among the nation’s largest health benefits companies. While at Wellpoint, Fluegel was responsible for long-term strategic planning, government affairs, corporate communications including public relations, corporate marketing, corporate development, international expansion, innovation and new business ventures.
