Bruce J Barclay joined Hansen Medical in June 2010 as president and CEO, and a member of the Board of Directors. He brings with him over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry and over 10 years of experience leading medical technology companies. Before joining Hansen Medical, Barclay served as president and CEO, and Board Director of SurModics, Inc. prior to becoming CEO in 2005; he served as president and chief operating officer (COO). Before joining SurModics, Barclay served as president and CEO of Vascular Architects, Inc., a private medical device company that developed, manufactured and sold products to endovascular surgeons, interventional radiologists and cardiologists for the treatment of peripheral vascular disease. Prior to this, he served at Eli Lilly and Company, and later at Guidant Corporation, most recently as an officer and senior vice president, and he was a member of the executive management committee of several Guidant subsidiaries.
