Catherine Smith

Catherine Smith became Brightstar’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel in July 2011. She has over twenty years of legal experience, much of it within the wireless industry. Catherine served most recently as Vice President and Lead Counsel for Motorola, Inc. and Motorola Mobility from May 2008 to July 2011, where she contributed to the separation of Motorola, Inc. into two independent, publicly traded companies. She served as Lead Counsel for Motorola’s Worldwide Sales Organization, Mobile Devices Business from March 2005 to May 2008. Catherine holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
