About
Chee-We is a MIT geek, McKinsey consultant turned Venture Capitalist. He’s currently Managing Partner of Oakseed Ventures, a firm he founded with colleagues from Cisco. He’s also an Investment Committee member of Castor Ventures under the Alumni Ventures Group, a frequent speaker and panel moderator at HBS Alumni events on AI, a StartMIT mentor, and one of the judges for the MIT $100K Business Plan Contest and Harvard Business School New Venture Contest annually. Chee-We holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT (where he received a 5.0 GPA and was also a PhD candidate), and an MBA from Harvard Business School. As an investor, his overall TVPI exceeds 5.9x, more than 80% of the companies he’s backed achieved >4x MOIC after 2 years and less than 7% have been written-off.
