Chris Lanning is co-General Counsel, and has worked at General Atlantic since 2000. Based in the New York office, Chris works primarily on structuring leveraged financings, equity investments and liquidity transactions for the firm’s global investments. Prior to joining GA, Chris was a Senior Associate in Corporate Finance at the Virginia-based law firm of Hunton & Williams, where he specialized in private equity and merger & acquisition transactions. Before that, he was an associate on the Corporate team at the New York law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. Chris holds a B.A. with High Distinction in History from The University of Virginia and a J.D. from The University of Virginia School of Law.
