Philanthropist and original Google employee Christopher Skarakis has been a notable supporter of the music community for over a decade. In addition to co-founding Powersniff, LLC, a music management company originally founded to reunite the band Babes in Toyland for a reunion tour, he sits on the board of a notable music access organization called Little Kids Rock (LKR). Through his work at LKR, Mr. Skarakis has helped bring musical instruments and instructors to students at various schools that no longer have music programs. Children and education are two causes very close to Chris Skarakis’s heart as he has two children of his own and also sits on the Board of the Friends of Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo (JMZ). Similar to LKR, JMZ works to increase access to education among under-privileged students by bringing science programs back to schools that have had to cut their science teachers.
