Cleopatra Mugyenyi, PhD., is a public health, policy and gender expert with 15 years of experience in Sub-Saharan Africa carrying out research, policy analysis, fundraising, strategic planning, and the development and evaluation of programs. Dr. Mugyenyi leads ICRW Africa where she oversees regional programs and a bench of experts conducting rigorous gender-related research across a number of thematic areas; strengthens the monitoring, evaluation and research capacities of organizations; disseminates state-of-the-art resource materials; promotes evidence-based advocacy; and works with key stakeholders to develop solutions that address various gender issues in the public and private sectors. Dr. Mugyenyi’s broad research experience covers youth livelihoods, positive youth development approaches, economic empowerment, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), land rights, and the prevention and response to violence against women and children.
