Cooper Ventures concentrates on early, seed-stage or first round investments. They prefer to invest in companies which can take advantage of their experience, which includes expertise in financing, technical development, and marketing, especially for larger Internet sites. In some investments they take a board position, but it is not a requirement. They are better described as angel investors then as venture capitalists. The qualities they look for in potential investments are the same as most professional investors: • Large potential market • At least the beginnings of a high-quality management team • Technology (or a product) that is unique
