Cornel partners with the firm’s portfolio companies and their Boards to identify and recruit for key executive positions. Cornel is equally adept at working with startups and later stage companies. He further advises the executive teams and Boards on compensation and structural organizational matters. Prior to joining Battery in 2000 Cornel was co-founder of the retained executive search firm, Lexington Associates. There, he leveraged his 18 years of experience in senior management in the Internet, data networking and telecommunications industries to successfully complete many high profile executive searches. Earlier in his career Cornel was Vice President in the Network Systems Division of PictureTel Corporation, where he spearheaded the company’s entry into the Internet and e-commerce market.
