David George Sterling in 1981 Before joining the company, David studied Risk Management and Insurance at the University of Wisconsin, and received a degree in Finance from Hofstra University. In 1987, David became President and CEO. Since that time the company has grown over 10 times in size to become one of the largest privately-‐owned insurance brokerages in America with more than 250 employees. David is a published author on insurance related topics and has lectured at the American Management Association on insurance. Under his leadership SterlingRisk marketed and sold the first “online” insurance policy using the Western Union Telex system as a network to reach customers. David has extensive experience in Cyber and related exposures having insured financial institutions and high tech companies for most of his career.
