Dierk Paskert was born in Gelsenkirchen in 1961. He studied law and economics at the universities in Würzburg and Münster, obtaining his PhD from the latter in 1991. Dierk Paskert started his professional career in investment banking at Trinkaus & Burkhardt, a German private bank. In the mid-1990s, he changed to the Veba Group, where he held several management positions, e.g. at Degussa-Hüls and Stinnes, the Group’s logistics subsidiary. At the latter, he was responsible for M&A and the corporate strategy before joining the Management Board of SCHENKER AG in Essen in 2001. In 2003, he was put in charge of the corporate strategy at E.ON, where he was instrumental in opening the Group up to renewable energy. In 2008, he was appointed member of the Management Board of E.ON-Energie in Munich, where he was in charge of the grids department, among others.
