Dr. Khaled Sherif

A seasoned entrepreneur and telecom executive, Khaled Sherif has been founding startups since 1997, after earning his PhD in Electronics from the University of Lille in France. His most recent role was Deputy to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt from 2015 to 2016. Prior to the Ministry, Dr. Khaled tenured at Saudi Arabia’s Mobily, where he last served as SEVP for Corporate Transformation after spending 8 years and holding a variety of executive leadership roles. Other notable positions include Director of Corporate Affairs for Orange Egypt (then Mobinil) and CEO of Orascom Distribution and Orascom Electronic Industries from 2001 to 2003. A telecom subject matter expert, Dr. Khaled served on the boards of Telecom Egypt from 2015 to 2016 and the Information Technology Institute from 2005 to 2007.
