About
Erik Williamson is an engineer that tackles diverse problems in applied sciences and data analysis. He has developed a host of data-driven applications, such as quantifying the semantic content of unstructured, natural language documents in order to cluster and map inter-document relationships. Erik has also developed a completely in silico model of mammalian metabolism to model the effects of diet and exercise, using GPU-based parallel processing to speed the solving of the model’s system of differential equations. Depending on need, his work spans the gamut from rapid prototyping to creating highly optimized code, bringing together knowledge from several domains. Erik holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University. Born in the suburbs of Chicago, he has lived in the northeast for the past decade. Erik loves to cook and does so with an analytical approach, eschewing traditional techniques for self-invented recipes and equipment.
