Eva Kirkby joined the technology transfer team at Imperial Innovations in April 2010 in the role of technology licensing associate. After obtaining her MEng degree in Materials Science from Oxford University, she went on to complete her PhD in Materials Science at EPFL in Switzerland, where she developed a carbon fibre composite material that was capable of detecting and locating its own impact damage, and subsequently self-healing. Currently responsible for the commercial exploitation of intellectual property from the Materials Science, Earth Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Civil and Environmental Engineering Departments, she has a particular interest in advanced materials, green technologies and biomaterials, mining technologies, enhanced oil recovery and biofuels.
