Everett currently serves as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors for Dobson Technologies. He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. In 1989, with the help of family-owned Dobson Telephone Company, Everett founded Dobson Communications Corporation (DCC) and was its executive chairman when it sold to AT&T in November 2007 for $5.1 billion enterprise which included $2.8 billion in equity market capital. At the time of the sale, the company was operating in 17 states, producing $1.6 billion in revenue, had 3,000 employees and 1.6 million subscribers. Dobson has been a member of the board of directors for the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum since 2000 and served as Chairman of the Board in 2012 and 2013. He has served his alma mater as a member of the SWOSU Foundation board of directors since 1991. Everett and his wife live in Oklahoma City. They have three daughters and four grandchildren.
