Born and brought up in India, Rathinam always wanted to use his professional skills in the service of this accelerating economy and now leads Actis’s transaction execution in India. Based in Mumbai, Rathinam joined CDC in 2000 bringing with him an invaluable perspective gained from more than ten years working with leading Indian firms and multinational companies, including Encyclopaedia Britannica (India), TV18 India, Sprint RPG India and Samcor Glass (a joint venture between Samtel and Corning, USA) - managing their operations, finance, commercial and legal matters. Resolving issues and developing solutions for investors and stakeholders alike is how Rathinam sees his role and during his time at Actis, he has played an integral part in numerous successful deals including Paras, Punjab Tractors, UTI Bank, Add Life Medical Institute, Ortel Communications, Tema, Halonix and Veeda Clinical Research.
