Professor George Fleming is a Civil Engineer with over 50 years' experience in a wide range of technical areas including hydrology, hydrogeology, coastal process and dredging, waste and resource management, landfill design, technology, contaminated land and peer review. He is also experienced in Environmental Due Diligence for assessing risks for investors in major projects. He began his research career at University of Strathclyde in 1966 and was appointed Research Fellow at Stanford University in 1967. Between the years of 1966-2004, Professor Fleming pioneered techniques in computer simulation of floods and sediment movements and the reuse of dredged material as topsoil. Professor Fleming is an Emeritus Professor of University of Strathclyde.
