Giles has over twenty five years experience in the investment industry. Ten years ago, Giles co-founded McNamee Lawrence & Co. (MLC), a technology-focused investment banking firm in Boston. MLC has closed more than 70 transactions, primarily with software and internet companies, approximately half of the deals being either cross-border or international. Prior to founding MLC, Giles was the co-head of the software banking practice at Hambrecht & Quist and its successor JP Morgan. Giles has been an active angel investor for many years with successful investments in a number of companies including Logmein (Nasdaq – LOGM), Propero (sold to VMWare), Norkom Technologies (sold to BAE Systems), Critical Path (Nasdaq – CPTH), nQuire (sold to Siebel Systems), EPAM (NYSE – EPAM) and UNYK (sold to Viadeo), among many others.
