He served as the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and as Chairman of the Rutgers University Board of Governors. Brown was also named to Forbes America’s Top 100 Most Innovative Leaders in 2019. Brown earned a bachelor's degree in economics and an honorary doctorate in humane letters from Rutgers University.
