The art of such startups is often the business model, go-to-market planning, experimentation, execution and not least perseverance. Building teams, crossing chasms, playing bowling alleys and winning categories are great challenges, and it is very satisfying when succeeding. My role is typically as board member, consultant, mentor and sounding board to the founder, the CEO, the executive team, and the board/shareholders. This is based on my own experience as serial entrepreneur and experience from several seed, early and growth stage investments covering both buy and sell side M&A and a couple of IPO's.
