Hao Fong

Dr. Hao Fong is a co-founder of Nanopareil, LLC and a Managing Member of the Company. He leads the electrospun nanofiber product manufacturing & development efforts for the company. Dr. Fong is one of the pioneers and renowned scientists worldwide in “Electrospinning and Nanofibers”, as evidenced by the number of peer-reviewed journal articles (≈100), books and/or book chapters (≈12), and citations of his publications (≈8,000). His highest degree is a Ph.D. earned in 1999 from the Department of Polymer Science at the University of Akron, and his Ph.D. advisor is Dr. Darrell H. Reneker who re-invented electrospinning in the early 1990’s. Dr. Fong has established a vigorous research program on “Electrospun Polymeric, Ceramic, Metallic, Carbonaceous Nanofibers and Their Applications” at SDSM&T, which has been supported by the NSF, NIH, US Army, US Air Force, DOE, NASA, and the State of South Dakota with the total funding over $4 Million as Principal Investigator.
