HeidelbergCapital was founded in mid-2007. Clemens Doppler and Prof. dr. Martin Weilen, formerly Managing Director of a large family office in London / UK with global investment focus and several direct operational investments as well as co-initiator and advisor to various Life Sciences funds. Dr. Clemens Doppler was a longtime partner in the British 3i Group. New York-based private equity investor Auda has provided $ 150 million in funding for the first funds, HeidelbergCapital Private Equity Fund I. The portfolio of HeidelberCapital ranges from young companies, which have already developed beyond the start-up phase and have a mature business model, to established medium-sized family businesses. As an active partner, HeidelbergCapital can support companies not only in strategic decisions, but also on a case-by-case basis by providing capital for further growth.
