Hide Aoki is a partner in charge of Space & Robotics at Global Brain, one of the largest VC firms based in Japan. He oversees the investment activities for space, robotics and new technology sectors all over the world. His current board responsibilities include Seismic, Telexistence, Axelspace, and other robotics startups. He was a board director of Life Robotics which was acquired by Fanuc in 2018. After obtaining a master’s degree in aerospace engineering and his pilot’s license, he developed the “Kounotori”, Japan’s first automated cargo spacecraft, at Mitsubishi Electric and won a number of awards. As a “Space Business Evangelist”, he is also helping to create a private sector-led space industry and co-founded and serves as a board member of SPACETIDE Foundation and Space Port Japan Association. He also serves JAXA, Japanese Space Agency, and government committees in his varied career.
