My father, H.L. Hunt, founded Hunt Oil Company in 1934 in the oil-boom town of Tyler, Texas. We subsequently moved our headquarters to Dallas, Texas, and in 2009 we celebrated our 75th anniversary. Today we are one of the largest privately held companies in the United States. Further, the areas of activity of the different Hunt companies include energy, real estate, investments, ranching and infrastructure.
