Formed in 1996, iXL peaked in 1999. iXL merged in 2001 with Scient and the combined firm filed for bankruptcy in 2002. Former Scient assets and a portion of the remaining workforce became SBI Group, then Avenue A/Razorfish, then aQuantive, then Microsoft Advertising, then most recently [Publicis Groupe](http://www.crunchbase.com/organization/publicis-groupe) in 2009.
