As the son of a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, James had the opportunity to live in various locations, including the Philippines and multiple military bases across the southeastern United States. These frequent moves allowed him to meet diverse people and gain invaluable life experiences, shaping his worldview. Living with cerebral palsy since birth, James has always sought to challenge societal expectations of individuals with disabilities. He believes that his disability does not define who he is, and he strives to live independently and lead a fulfilling life. After moving out of Sumter, South Carolina, James has lived on his own for over eight years, realizing his lifelong goal of living autonomously and thriving despite his condition.
