Jeff Butler is a Partner Software Engineering Manager at Microsoft. He has over 20 years of experience with scale-out storage systems. The Microsoft cloud, Azure, provides the platform for building the ultimate storage systems. He handles the Service Engineering team. They support the Azure HPC Cache, Avere vFXT for Azure, and the traditional Avere products. Before the 2018 Microsoft acquisition of Avere Systems, Jeff was the VP of Customer Operations for Avere. He managed pre-sales and post-sales support, and field logistics. His work with Avere customers started in the early stages of the company. He grew both their support capabilities as well as the support organization. He supported customers across many vertical markets, including Media & Entertainment, Life Sciences, Financial Services. Jeff started at Avere as a Member of the Technical Staff. He contributed to our novel caching file system. Jeff added several features to the file system with a focus on performance. He created
