Jeffrey Tobias, M.D. was appointed our Executive Vice President, Research and Development and Chief Medical Officer in March 2012, after joining the company as Senior Vice President, Research and Development and Chief Medical Officer in 2011. Prior to Jazz Pharmaceuticals, he served as Executive Vice President, Research and Development at NeurogesX, Inc., where he had been Chief Medical Officer since 2005. Previously, he was Founder and Managing Director of Aquila Consulting Group, LLC, a biopharmaceutical consulting firm from 1996 to 2005, where he supported clients in all aspects of clinical development, technology assessment and strategic planning. Prior to that, he served in various roles in drug discovery and clinical development at ALZA Corporation, Chiron Corporation and XOMA Corporation.
