Jim S. Young, Ph.D is a founder of Perceptual Networks. Dr. Young oversees the company’s technology development and jointly oversees product development. Dr. Young previously was co-founder, CTO and CEO of HotOrNot.com. In this capacity, he singlehandedly scaled a web property from launch to being a top 25 web property in less than three months, and was responsible for one of the earliest large scale deployments of the LAMP architecture. Dr. Young also was a founding partner at I/O Ventures, a startup accelerator in San Francisco. He holds a doctorate in EE/CS from the University of California at Berkeley and is a board member of the Berkeley Engineering Fund.
