John Choi has extensive experience as a healthcare investor, executive and serial entrepreneur. In addition to being a co-founder and the CBO of Hua Medicine, he is a Venture Partner with Fidelity. Previous to Hua, he co-founded Pytho Capital, a research-oriented, life-science specialized hedge fund investing in small-cap, public biotech companies. Before co-founding Pytho Capital, John was a Principal at the storied venture capital firm of Venrock Associates, the venture investing arm of the Rockefellers. During his tenure there, John focused on Venrock's biotechnology and medical device franchises, working actively with portfolio companies such as Coley Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Pfizer NYSE:PFE), Sirna Therapeutics (acquired by Merck NYSE: MRK), Celladon Corporation (NASDAQ:CLDN), and Princeton Lightwave.
