John is chairman of the board at Blucora, a Bellevue-based company comprising several on-line businesses (TaxACT, InfoSpace and Monoprice). He also currently serves as the general partner of Clear Fir Partners, L.P., a venture capital investment partnership funding more than 40 early stage technology companies since 1998. Previously, John was chief executive officer of RealCom Office Communications Inc., a national telecom services company. Before that, he was a board member and the non-executive chairman of the telecommunications company Citel Technologies, Inc. John serves on the board of directors for Catholic Community Foundation, Guanxi, Inc., Qliance, Inc.and RealNetworks. He is also an advisor to Petra Growth Fund II and III. He holds a bachelor of arts degree from Santa Clara University and a master's degree in business administration from The University of Virginia.
