John is Managing Partner of 3i Debt Management US and joined the company in September 2012 following the completion of the strategic transaction with WCAS Fraser Sullivan, which established a 3i debt management platform in the US. John co founded WCAS Fraser Sullivan in 2005. Prior to founding WCAS Fraser Sullivan, Mr. Fraser was a Managing Director and Partner with Angelo, Gordon & Co., L.P. from 1997 to 2005. At Angelo, Gordon, John started the firm’s leveraged loan investment management business and served as portfolio manager of Angelo, Gordon’s five leveraged loan funds since their inception. Before joining the firm, he was a Managing Director with Cypress Tree Investment Management Co., Inc., a company devoted exclusively to the leveraged loan marketplace. Prior to that, he spent six years as a Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Merrill Lynch Asset Management, where he managed investments in the leveraged loan and high yield bond markets.
