Julio F. Lastres, Senior Managing Director, is responsible for managing Darby's private equity investment activities in Latin America. Mr. Lastres joined Darby in 1998, as a Managing Director responsible for managing the Darby Emerging Markets Fund and the Darby Latin American Private Equity Fund, targeting a broad number of countries and sectors in Latin America. Today his broader management responsibilities include investment funds that have invested in over 25 portfolio companies and a team of investment professionals based in Brazil, Mexico and the US. In addition, Mr. Lastres is a member of several Darby investment committees, and serves on the Board of Directors of Darby portfolio companies in Brazil and Mexico. Prior to joining Darby, Mr. Lastres spent nine years at the World Bank Group's International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Washington, DC.
