Justin focuses on fintech investments at Canvas, bringing over 13 years of deep industry expertise from his tenure at Silicon Valley Bank. As a Partner at Canvas, he leverages his extensive experience working with pioneering fintech companies to identify and support the next generation of category-defining businesses. During his time at SVB, Justin played an instrumental role in building the bank's fintech practice from the ground up. Starting in Asset Backed Lending and Life Sciences, he was specifically selected to help establish SVB's dedicated fintech vertical. Under his leadership, the division grew from less than 5% to nearly 35% of SVB's commercial banking unit gross profit. Justin led deals with many of the industry's breakthrough companies, including Chime, Afterpay, Brex, Roofstock, and Marqeta, giving him unique insight into what drives successful fintech businesses at every stage.
