Prior to Biodesign Kate spent five years as a development engineer and project leader at Pathway Medical Technologies (Seattle, WA), a medical device company that designs and manufactures the JETSTREAM(tm) family of atherectomy devices. While at Pathway Medical Kate supported more than six 510(k) submissions and acted as the engineering lead on the design verification and validation phases of three projects including two commercially available products. Kate is named as an inventor on the patent for the second-generation technology utilized in all current products in the JETSTREAM(tm) family. While at Pathway Kate developed several bench-top test models, including a simulated thrombus model, used to substantiate the safety and efficacy of the JETSTREAM(tm) System. Kate has traveled to national and international clinical sites and assisted with a GLP animal study.
