Keolis is a leading public transport operator with activities in 12 countries: France, UK, Sweden, Australia, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Canada, Portugal and the USA. The group designs and operates transport systems which are adapted to local requirements and has activities across the chain of mobility: buses, trams and underground trains as well as bike schemes, car sharing and vehicle parking; intercity or interurban coach services, school buses, regional, suburban or intercity passenger rail services. The Keolis group reported 2010 turnover of 4.1 billion euros of which 45% was generated outside France. Its shareholders are SNCF (56.5%), Axa Private Equity and CDPQ (40.7%) and management and staff (2.8%). At 31 December 2010 the Group had 47,200 employees.
