Lana Legostaeva joined Invest Ottawa as the Vice President of Finance and Administration in March of 2014. She has extensive financial and managerial experience in both the not-for-profit and for-profit industries. In the recent past, she was a financial controller with the federal non-profit corporation, Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC), and managed the operational budget of over 200 million dollars. Prior to EFC, Lana was a Manager of Accounting at the Aga Khan Foundation Canada, where her focus was on managing federal grants and contribution agreements, as well as donation revenue. She also provided training and mentoring to AKFC’s volunteer network across Canada and led a major software implementation. She believes that to be a good financial leader it is important to have more than financial oversight but an understanding of how financial decisions impact far beyond the financial statement but rather across the whole organization.
