Lilian Gessert

About

Dr. Parra-Gessert is responsible for establishing the protein technologies laboratory and leading the experimental research and development pipeline of biomolecules initially identified using TeraFold’s computational platform. Prior to co-founding TeraFold, Dr. Parra-Gessert was Principal Scientist at Amgen, where she worked on developing novel antibody-based technologies for human therapeutics. At Amgen she also led a group working on protein scaffolds as an alternative to antibodies. Prior to Amgen, she was a Senior Scientist at Avidia (acquired by Amgen), and a Senior Scientist at Diversa, a protein molecular evolution company where she was instrumental in developing the company’s technology platform. She is an inventor on several pending and issued patents and has several publications in the area of protein engineering. Lilian completed her postdoctoral training at the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute in La Jolla and holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University
