Luiz Cezar has been an influential figure in the Brazilian banking for many years. He is responsible for founding two of the most respected investment banks in Brazil: Banco Garantia and Banco Pactual. Cezar has always been a pioneer in bringing innovation to the markets. He is a founder of CETIP, the Brazilian settlement house for OTC derivatives and fixed income securities, as well as founder of the SELIC, securities settlement system of government. Apart from instrumental / essential in the creation of the regulatory agency markets - CVM, Cezar was one of the consultants of external debt restructuring in the mid 80s and is a founding member of Anbima, the National Association of Financial Market Institutions. Cezar is engaged in various social activities (charity) and non-profit organizations and is now a member universities board like PUC - RJ and UCP - Petrópolis.
