Mago was founded by the founders of Locaweb in 2021. We are one of the few funds to adopt a hybrid investment strategy, combining VC Fund of Funds and direct investments in startups. Our current portfolio includes 21 funds operating in various stages, with a focus on early-stage investments, each with specific approaches and sectors. Examples include Astella, Monashees, Vox, Valor and SaaSholic. As for direct investments, we are actively seeking early-stage startups, preferably those backed by a fund from our portfolio. We are looking for entrepreneurs with strong execution capabilities, positive unit economics and a significant addressable market. Our scout check can reach up to $300,000 and is targeted at startups raising a first check from a qualified fund, while our core check can reach up to $1 million and is aimed at startups receiving a follow-on investment from a qualified fund.
