Dr. Matt Gaidica is a neuroscientist at the University of Michigan working on tools to record brain rhythms from wild animals. He is interested in questions regarding extreme behaviors and environments, and the physiological mechanisms that animals use to enable or cope with those conditions. Gaidica’s doctoral work concerned the neural basis of motor control with a focus on movement disorders. Prior to that, he worked between academia and industry as an electrical engineer and entrepreneur. He was recently recognized as one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 and is currently working on his second book, “Brain Clocks: The Neuroscience of Time”.
