Prior to joining Grandbanks Capital as an Executive in Residence and launching ETL Capital, Hicks was head of M&A and strategic investing at RSA Security (EMC) and co-founder / President of Rockblocks Group, an investment holding company in the global vendor compliance software space. He was also co-founder and SVP of Corporate Development at Rudder Capital where he led multiple platform acquisitions in the digital media / IPTV services arena. Previously, Hicks was an early / seed stage investor at Redleaf Ventures where he was EIR / founding investor in a technology spin-out from Cisco Systems and he led numerous early growth stage private equity investments as a member of the Technology and Communications Group at GE Equity. His professional skills include M&A, private equity / strategic investing, new business development, strategic alliances, capital fundraising, contract negotiation, financial management and intellectual property rights management.
