Michael Cavounis

Michael Cavounis joined American Capital in November 2012 as Principal in the Syndications Group. Mr. Cavounis joined American Capital from the Royal Bank of Scotland plc (RBS), where he was most recently a Director in the Leveraged Capital Markets Group, responsible for structuring, pricing, underwriting and executing leveraged loan and high yield bond financings. Previously he was a Director in RBS’s Financial Sponsors and Leveraged Finance Group, responsible for originating, underwriting and executing senior, mezzanine and high yield bond financings for private equity clients. Prior to that, Mr. Cavounis held various roles with Bank of America, JH Whitney & Co., Heller Financial and Morgan Stanley. Mr. Cavounis received a B.S. degree, cum laude, in Finance and Economics from New York University and an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
