Mr. de Gelder, Chairman of BC Discovery Fund, is Executive Vice-President of Stern Partners Inc. where he provides executive support for the management of existing companies in which Stern Partners is a lead investor, as well as leadership in the sourcing, structuring and completion of new investments. Widely regarded as one of Canada's leading corporate lawyers, Mr. de Gelder was previously a partner in Vancouver with the law firm Borden Ladner Gervais LLP where he practiced corporate and commercial law, primarily in the capital markets and mergers and acquisitions areas. Mr. de Gelder was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1979. He is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School at York University with a Bachelor of Laws (1978) and received his Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree from the University of Calgary (1975).
